Thriftuary (Part One)

It been a while since I've provided you with a chart on this blog.  (In fact, it's been a while since I've provided you with a post on this blog).  But here's one for you:

I suppose I'd better tell you what it's all about, then?

Well, it all started a couple of weeks ago, when Ben and I...  no, wait - it started earlier then that.

It started in December, when I spent over twice as much on groceries than my 2012 average. Twice as much. No idea how it happened. My brother did Christmas and my only contribution to that was 5 boxes of mince pies which I forgot to take over, anyway. I wonder what happened to those...

So then a couple of weeks ago, Ben and I were discussing this phenomenon in the office and came to the conclusion that what we needed to do was spend as little on food in February as we possibly could (whilst still keeping ourselves scurvy-free, obviously...).  Don't ask me why that seemed reasonable at the time, because it sure as hell doesn't now!  Our respective partners have been dragged kicking and screaming into this ridiculous scheme as well.

So yeah.  We're three days in.  I've had a bolognese made from some very suspect mince, (I'm pretty sure I saw that mince in a line up on Crimewatch last week...)  a pretty awesome toad in the hole (relatively speaking) and some liver and onions (which are always delicious!).

And so far I'm winning! Pretty sure that won't last.

Here, for anyone who cares, is Dr K and my diet for the last 3 days (I won't post Ben's as I think this post invades his privacy enough as it is!):

Toodle pip!
